        • Very favorable conditions for doing business have been created in Belarus

Very favorable conditions for doing business have been created in Belarus

        26 March 2019
The owner of the Swiss company Stadler Rail Group Peter Spuhler made the relevant statement after meeting with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko last week, BelTA has learned.

Peter Spuhler said: “As Stadler Company's owner I can say I am delighted by work conditions in Belarus. Including economic conditions and the professional qualifications of the personnel. It is a quality seal for any national economy.

”These conditions allow the joint venture Stadler Minsk to successfully make trains. “We started working here in greenfield conditions seven years ago. We've created a modern enterprise. It may be even the most up-to-date enterprise in the entire Stadler Rail Group. For five years we've been producing things here,” Peter Spuhler said. In his words, the enterprise now operates at full capacity, it employs one thousand people, and does 1.2 million man hours per year.

“The quality standards we follow here absolutely match the German ones or the Swiss ones. Belarusian workers are very well trained and educated. Thanks to that we can reach not only on the Belarusian market but also the global one,” the businessman said.

Based in Fanipol, Dzerzhinsk District, Minsk Oblast, the Stadler Minsk train factory now makes trains for Norway, double-decker trains for Hungary, diesel and electric trains for Slovenia as well as trams for Bolivia.

BelTA reported earlier that on 20 March Stadler Company and the Minsk city metro company unveiled the first four-car train made for the Minsk metro system. The innovative train is unmatched in the Commonwealth of Independent States. It was designed and made by Stadler Minsk. In line with the contract signed with the Minsk city metro company the manufacturer is supposed to make ten trains for the third line of the Minsk city metro system, which is now under construction. Six trains will be delivered in 2019 and another four in 2020.

The Stadler Minsk factory was registered as a resident of Free economic zone Minsk in December 2011, was officially opened on 20 November 2014. The enterprise is part of the Swiss company Stadler Rail Group, which has been one of Europe's leading producers of railway rolling stock for over 75 years. Stadler Rail Group also has branches in Austria, Australia, Algeria, UK, Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, Hungary, Poland, Czechia, Italy, and the USA.
