The Stadler-Minsk plant in Fanipol was visited by a delegation from the American city of Atlanta. In Belarus they were interested in new trains, which have been running in the Minsk Metro for a month now. The fact is that the technical characteristics of trains in the subways of Minsk and Atlanta are similar, therefore, new production in the United States will be established according to the example of the plant in Fanipol.
In parallel, Stadler Minsk is working on large orders for the railways of Hungary, Slovenia, Azerbaijan and Norway. And in April they plan to open a new converter plant in Fanipol. The Stadler plant is actively developing thanks to its location. It is located in the free economic zone Minsk that gives the opportunity to carry out its production activity using unique economic regulations of FEZ.
As reported by the Minister of foreign affairs and foreign economic relations of Hungary Péter Szijjártó to his Belarusian counterpart Vladimir Makei at a joint press conference held in Minsk, on March 3, the Hungarian railway company has already signed a contract for the supply of 40 Stadler double-deck trains to Hungary.
According to Szijjártó, this is not the first contract with the Belarusian plant for the manufacture of railway transport. Already this month, 11 double-decker Stadler trains from Belarus will start to run in Hungary.
