“Belkommunmash” developed the first right-hand electric bus in the CIS. The Deputy Chief Designer of the enterprise Sergey Chistov reported to BelTA.
"This is the first right-hand electric bus in the CIS. It was developed under the state scientific and technical program. The body is as unified as possible for subsequent production, so that you can configure the right or left handlebar according to customer requirements. The concept is similar to the Minsk electric buses with fast charging at the final stopping points. The 12-meter bus runs an average route of 20 km, then within 8 minutes it is charged and released to the line. This concept allows to flexibly form the infrastructure of charging stations in the old cities", - said Sergey Chistov.
The electric bus will be presented at Coach & Bus Live 2019 - bus, commercial transport and logistics exhibition, which will take place on October 2-3 in Birmingham. The UK was not chosen by chance: the country supports the concept of the liberation of cities from internal combustion engines and by 2040 plans to remove vehicles with such engines from the city streets.
"We offer our solution and find a response in the cities. We held talks in Manchester and Nottingham and see the interest from transport operators and city authorities in electric transport. In the future, we plan to operate this electric bus in the city of Nottingham", - said the Deputy Chief Designer.
In addition, now OJSC "Management company of holding "Belkommunmash", which is the resident of FEZ "Minsk" from 2013, holds talks with a British manufacturer of vehicles for the joint localization of production and further promotion of buses to the markets of other countries such as: Barbados, Malta and Cyprus.
